Before Enterprise Fitness, I was the typical gym goer. Passionate about fitness, ‘do whatever it takes’ kind of mentality and I trained hard (or so I thought). But passion could only get me so far.
Practice does not make perfect, perfect practice does!
It didn’t matter how hard I trained, or how bad I wanted it, I was always doing the wrong thing. Multiplying zero by 1000 will still be zero in the end. I needed proper guidance. My friends would often ask me “How long have you been training/going gym for?”
“I was embarrassed to tell them the truth (over 5 years) because my body didn’t reflect that at all.”
There is so much misleading information out there, generic programs and diet scams. I was spending lots of money on supplements that promised results and following guides and programs that were designed for a completely different person with a different lifestyle, genetics and background hoping that it would have the same effect on me. Somehow I kept finding a way to justify all this hoping that it’d be worth something… Someday.
One day my best friend said to me “Why don’t you dedicate one full year to do everything right, that way you can one day turn around and say that you’ve done it.” I thought about that for months, researching and looking for the guidance that I needed. I knew that if I was going to do everything “proper” it meant I had to get a “proper”, no BS approach trainer. That’s when I found Enterprise Fitness. I spent the next month, researching the company, listening to Mark Ottobre’s podcasts (all of them) and YouTube clips from his seminars. When I saw their client’s before and after photos, I couldn’t believe it. That can’t be right? That can’t be accomplished in 3-6months time? I’ve been trying for 5 years now and you’re telling me that this is what I could have accomplished if I had done it right?
So I enquired and spoke to Jaz, she was lovely and answered everything that I asked. It wasn’t long till I met the rest of the team. I was nervous and intimidated of course. I expected to walk into a gym full of athletes and ripped bodybuilders, but I was so wrong, I was welcomed with open arms, it didn’t take long till I was on a first name basis with the team.
My trainer, James Kelly took me through everything. Till this day, I still feel like he’s more motivated and driven about MY goals than I am. He would constantly check up on how I’m travelling with things, my nutrition, how my body is feeling and reacting to certain things. Every minor detail of my progress, he wanted to know. I literally feel like he’s slapping the bad foods out of my hand even when he’s not there. I have never met such a dedicated trainer before. He has taken my goals as if it were his own and that’s more than I could ever ask for. I felt that I was more than just a client. James took pride in and responsibility for my progress, I knew I was in safe hands.
There were no ‘office hours’ with James, despite the fact that he also had his own training to do as a professional athlete. I was able to contact him anytime and he would respond straight away. Occasionally I would send a photo of a food that I was not sure if I was able to eat such as chocolates and donuts (I knew I couldn’t but it was worth a shot!). Enterprise Fitness is a real team and I have had guidance and tips from the rest of the group too.
I picked a date for an INBA show when I started, little did I know that the date I picked happened to be a massive event and was hosted at the Australian Fitness expo. A big event like this for my FIRST show?
Of course I was nervous, but the team reassured me throughout my journey and I still can’t believe that I won my first show at a novice level!
Remembering what my friend had said, “do it properly.” My first intention was only to do one show, win or lose, I will only do one. But in the 5 months I’ve trained at EF, I can’t stop. I’m hungry to achieve more because I know that I can with their help. I have become addicted to striving for a better version of myself. If I could achieve this much in 5 months, I can’t imagine what I can achieve in a year, two years, and three years! My biggest motivation and drive comes from results that I see. I can clearly see the results that the EF team have given me.
Thank you so much Enterprise Fitness!
