Following my photo shoot in October 2016, I wondered (again) about doing a Competition. I felt it was beyond me because
(a) I was over 50 and
(b) only girls that looked like models would enter these competitions.
But what about just doing it for the experience I wondered? I didn’t want to regret not having experienced participating in a competition.
I decided to enter one, with the following objectives:
(a) to enjoy the experience and
(b) commit to give it my very best.
So this made its way to the top of my Bucket List!
There was no question that I’d choose Enterprise Fitness to guide me through my quest. So the journey began.
In January 2017, I decided to enter the ICN All Female Classic in June. Six months would be reasonable for preparation. My trainer developed a customized training program giving consideration to my knee issues.
In February, whilst walking to a work meeting in the city, I tripped and broke my left foot. This resulted with eight weeks in a moon boot and no leg training for 3 months! So my plans had to change and I decided to enter the ICN Victorian State Titles in September 2017 instead.
While my foot was healing, my trainer put together the master plan to get me back on track. When I finally had the all clear to get back into leg training, I was eased slowly back into training and monitored my body’s response after every session. Each time my program and meal plans changed I saw improvements to my physique.
Throughout this process, I enjoyed my customized training programs; they were clear, purposeful and easy to follow so I was able to train on my own too; my meal plans were practical and straightforward. If I had any questions, Enterprise was always on hand. I looked forward to training at the end of each day – this was my chill time!
The final week before comp day, my trainer made further refinements to my program and meals.
On Sunday morning of 17thSeptember 2017, … I looked in the mirror and saw my clearly defined abs for the first time!
I could not believe how they had just ‘popped’! These looked even better than in my earlier Photo Shoot!
Competition Day – NEVER in my wildest dreams did I imagine I would place 1st in Bikini over 40s, 2nd place in Sports Model over 40s, and 5th place in Bikini First Timers at the ICN Victorian State Titles! It was a day I will never forget!
I couldn’t thank Enterprise Fitness enough for guiding me through this wonderful journey and helping me to tick the first item off my Bucket List with such a fulfilling and happy outcome!
