I always had the dream of competing in the back of my mind when I first came to Enterprise Fitness, however there was no way I thought I would be stepping on a stage within the first 5 months of joining. In May 2018 I entered my first ever Fitness Competition and I managed to walk away with winning First Place in ‘Sports Model First Timers’ and a Second Place in ‘Fitness Model First Timers’. This was a dream come true for me.
When I was 18 I lived in Gippsland and use to live an unhealthy lifestyle. I was overweight and extremely unhappy with the way I looked. I thought the only way to transform my body was to spend hours in the gym doing cardio and as well as trying drastic diets.
I did lose a bit of weight initially but it didn’t take long before I stacked the weight back on as I slipped back into old habits. I realized that I had to make a change and I started following Fitness Models on Instagram and tried some of their workout plans where I lost a little more weight.
In 2016 I moved to Melbourne and I started lifting weights as well as eating a small amount of carbs. I saw some improvement but I didn’t really know what I was doing and I still wasn’t happy with the way that I looked. I always dreamt of competing and I wanted to look like the girls that I followed on Instagram. I knew if I was serious about doing it, I had to make a change.
I wanted a coach that would guide me with nutrition and exercise. I found Enterprise Fitness in Richmond and went in for an initial consultation where I discovered they were extremely knowledgeable and welcoming. Later on in the week I went back for a fast track session and signed up on the day. I was scared of the unknown, however that quickly disappeared with the team of support you get with joining Enterprise.
I always thought I was doing weights properly until I started training with my coach and soon realized there was so much more to it than I knew. I felt like I was achieving something after every workout rather than going through the motions.
I was eating around 1500 calories before Enterprise and my calories quickly started to increase. When my coach first put carbs in my nutrition program I was extremely worried about gaining weight as the amount of carbs was a lot more than what I was use to. I was eating more food than I ever could imagined and my body fat percentage was decreasing at the same time.
At one point in my prep I was eating around 2900 calories a day whilst adding lean muscle and dropping my body fat percentage. Throughout my entire prep I constantly had access to advice and information from my coach and was always re-assured to trust in the process.
On the day of my first competition I was extremely nervous yet excited because I had the support of not only my coach, but the entire Enterprise family. To walk away with the success I had that day will stick with me for the rest of my life as one of my biggest achievements. It would not have been possible without Enterprise Fitness. From there I then went on to do the All Females Classic Competition in June 2018 where I walked away with 2 First Places, 1 Second Place and 2 Third Places. I am so happy I was able to push myself to my limits and get into the best shape of my life and achieve a long term goal.
Due to winning the Sports Model Open for my height division at the All Female Classic, I was given the opportunity to compete internationally at ICN Southern Universe Championships in Thailand where I placed second in the 3 divisions that I entered.
All-in-all, I am so happy I stepped into the unknown and was able to be successful in such a short amount of time. I would have not been able to get to where I am today without the ongoing support and coaching from Enterprise.
