I am a Melbourne based strength coach and have been in the industry for over 4 years. I have a sporting background in basketball and track & field at both a state and national level (as a teen), a brief stint in martial arts and most recently, powerlifting: also at a state and national level.
My training style is very simple: get people moving well, and then get them strong.
I attended the Fitness Business Summit where I heard Mark speak, I really liked what I heard and how he approached things, and when I found out about the 3 Day Internship I jumped at the opportunity to be in the same room as him for three days.
The best word I can use to describe the experience of the internship is: INTENSE.
I originally went to the internship to gain a better understanding of nutrition and business strategies and how to effectively implement them and left with plenty of concepts, ideas and inspiration to take away. A definite highlight for me was Mark making reference to Dragon Ball Z!
The training aspect of the internship was rather challenging for me, as the past few years my training has been quite specific to powerlifting, however the principles and methods used are definitely going to be added to not only my clients programs, but to my own also.
Attending courses like this is a great way to meet like minded people, and the internship definitely spoke true to that. The amount of information that Mark has tucked away and their ability to deliver it is quite extraordinary and I was definitely impressed. I’ve already been able to implement some of the nutritional guidelines into my own business, and am currently working towards introducing some of the business strategies.
The information in the course was great, and very in depth. Despite what your approach to training is, this course would be of benefit. I’ve highly recommended it to other trainers I know, as well to amateur body builders that I know.
A really great outcome of doing this internship was being hired by Mark to be his strength coach. In two squat sessions, we improved his squat from 157.5kg to 180kg at 88kg body weight. I’m very much looking forward to working further with Mark and the rest of the team at Enterprise Fitness.
