What an EPIC day it was at the ICN Melbourne Pro Show held at the Melbourne Convention Centre on November 13th – 15th, 2017!
This was the show that had us hanging in our seats… let me tell you why…
Now let’s start at the start.
Jules Witkamp
2nd Place in 50+ Figure
4th Place Diamond Figure
Jules Witkamp stars in her second season training with Enterprise Fitness master coach, Reece Adams. This marks her second comp this year but her most recent of MANY (17 to be exact) years worth of competing.
Julianne started with a bang yesterday taking out 2nd place in a line up of 7 other figure girls in the 50+ Figure, followed by 4th in the new Diamond class. Her results are a credit to her hard work and consistency. This was her second comp season together with her coach, Reece Adams.
Her skin folds showing an increase in roughly 2kg of lean tissue since our last comp season. She now wishes to hang up her boots (heels) after 17 years of competing. All we wish is that she had have found us sooner because she’s been a genuine pleasure to work with and always has a smile on her face no matter the day or the situation.
Thank you for being you Jules! You’ll be greatly missed!
Kate Keown
1st Place PRO Fitness – in a stacked line up of 17.
1st Place National Sports Model Class 1
and
National Overall Sports model.
She now holds 2 PRO cards – 1 in Fitness and 1 in Sports.
At 6:00pm we had Kate Keown step on stage. The 3rd girl to make her debut in the Pro Fitness Model lineup of 17 INCREDIBLE girls…
This was a grueling, nail biting performance as the judges spent more than an hour deliberating and rearranging girls on stage to come to their final decision and to pick a winner…. and guess who won the overall? Of course it was our very own Kate Keown! But less from us, wouldn’t you like to see the show for yourself? See the pictures that captured the moments below!
Kate’s “off” season was not your typical one – Kate put a lot of trust in her coach, pulling her training volume down to 3 days a week with 12 sets p/session over a 3 month period whilst also keeping her food as high as possible. She used her extra time to educate herself more and develop a better relationship with herself. This comp season, even though she looked her best, she didn’t even post a progress picture (although, her sneaky coach, Reece Adams couldn’t resist).
Once she started prep, she and her coach stepped things up and pushed training from 3 sessions to 4. Then from 4 to 5, and in the last two programs she did 6 sessions a week. Each time, challenging her physiology more and more but also keeping an eye on her recovery with programmed deloads and refeeds to upregulate recovery and keep stress managed.
This whole prep she only had 1 no carb day and on that day she had 140g of fat spread across her 6 meals. Doing no carbs isn’t always the best option it depends on the competitor. Even though they never took all her carbs out it still resulted in having a massively improved physique and conditioning from last year even though she did exactly the same amount of cardio but ate more. We could not have wished for a better prep or competitor to work with.
Reece has now dubbed Kate the ‘Golden Goose’ and anyone who knows Kate will understand when they read the google definition.
