4-Time Ms. Australia’s Secret Supplements!

Janet Kane Enterprise Fitness Mark Ottobre Supplements Melbourne Best Personal Trainer Janet Kane is a 4-time Miss Australia and has won gold at the Arnold Classic 3 years running. I’ve been coaching her for almost a decade and I guided her on what supplements to take.

Janet is driven, inspired and doesn’t ever give up. She is someone that I would refer to as dopamine dominant; meaning, she’s always on (kinda like me, hence why we have worked so well together for so many years).

If someone like Janet took the standard supplement advice that most competitors are given, she could be in a lot of trouble.

What do I mean by that?

Most competitors are taught they need something to train ‘harder’ so they take pre-workout after pre-workout and try fat burner after fat burner. This amps them up for training; the problem being, they get so amped for training that their cortisol and adrenals stay ‘on’ well into the evening when it’s time for bed! And not sleeping can really inhibit recovery and speed at which you can lose body fat, build muscle and recover from workouts.

So for Janet, as you can imagine; we don’t have to focus on getting her to train ‘harder’. Our supplementation supports her recovery and wind down process. Through muscle testing, the two supplements that have made a world of difference to Janet are:

  • 5HTP and
  • Taurine

Why?

Because they calm her down and settle the brain after a full day. They speed up the recovery process so she can do what she does best, train hard!

Now I don’t recommend you to just go out and pick yourself up some 5HTP or Taurine. However, what I do suggest is for you to take an inventory of what supplements you’re currently taking and ask the following two questions…

  1. Why am I taking this?
  2. Does this fit with a holistic approach to my health?
