Training with Chris, Kristy loves to lead a healthy lifestyle. With a naturally petite frame, she can find it a challenge to build and maintain lean muscle. Throughout her most recent prep, trainer Chris kept a close eye on her diet to make sure she was eating enough and eating the right nutrients. Kristy trained within a lower rep range and did not do any cardio.
Nice work Kristy! A textbook and seriously awesome transformation.Keep reading to find out what Kristy thought of her experience competing with Enterprise Fitness.
During your competition prep, did you do any cardio? And were there any drastic changes to your diet?
I have now competed twice, and I did not do any cardio at all! Drastic changes? It depends on what you determine as drastic. I certainly didn’t live on broccoli and chicken. No crazy calorie counting. I had so much food and variety in my nutrition plan so no, I wouldn’t say there was anything drastic about it.
What was the main hurdle during your competition prep and how did you overcome this?
Eating, I don’t have a great appetite so getting used to the volume of food I needed to eat was really difficult for me. However Chris never made me force feed, it was a gradual journey of working up to the required amount of food I needed on a daily basis.
Do you feel that you have progressed since your last competition? If yes, how?
Absolutely, I stood on stage leaner and had more muscle and definition than my last comp. I felt really confident my second time around, just trusting in my coach and the process and knowing what to expect.
Are you confident in yourself and your body?
For me healthy mind = healthy body, it is difficult to have one without the other.
The support I received from Enterprise, Chris and my partner was incredible, that allowed me to be mentally strong and therefore physically strong and bring my best package to the stage. I am someone that will always take on feedback and then do my best to improve.
What makes Chris a great trainer?
He loves what he does and he genuinely wants the best for you.
Too many trainers are in it for themselves, they like to say “I train fitness models, that’s one of my girls”, and they use whatever methods THEY want to get a girl up on stage irrespective of whether they are ready or not, or the damage it is doing mentally and physically to the competitor.
Chris listens to me, he listens to what my body is telling us to do and he works with it. He pushes me to be the best version of me, but he doesn’t push me to be someone I am not, and he doesn’t push me to do something I am not ready for i.e. getting on stage.
Chris takes an immense amount of pride in himself and his clients. If he is not satisfied that both he and his client are proud of where they are at and feel they are ready for the stage, he will talk to them about and explain why we aren’t ready yet. Too many girls get on stage when they shouldn’t and then suffer mass humiliation and self confidence issues when they get critiqued by the judges and when comparing themselves to other competitors. Chris is more than a coach to me, he is a friend and a role model for me, I respect him immensely because he respects me.
Would you recommend Enterprise Fitness to anyone else? If yes, who in particular?
Absolutely.
Most coaches and facilities put together a bunch of PT’s and tell them to get to work. Enterprise Fitness is a team, not a collection of individuals, they are all there for you to work with you and assist each other when needed. They are continually upskilling themselves, never resting on that basic Certificate IV. At Enterprise, they have the most diverse qualifications and certifications all in aid of providing us – their client with cutting edge knowledge and advantage.
I would recommend Enterprise to anyone wanting to become a better fitter, healthier version of themselves. You don’t need to be a competitor to benefit from their skills.
