In this video, we’re going to be teaching you how to do a barbell slant board squat, so you might be thinking, what is a slant board squat? This is a slant board, and this is the position we’re going to put it on, which is approximately 45 degrees there.
o firstly I’m going to get Jade to really show you the effects of the slant board..
Jade squats normally..
As you can see, your position isn’t perfect. She is leaning forward, she’s a little bit tight, a, it’s not a perfect squat. So if we move this into position here and we put that in and she does the same thing, what you’ll observe is not even a bit higher than that. Jade up nice and high. Now the first thing that’s going to move are her knees, moving forward.
So let’s demonstrate. So yeah, she’s also now up nice and tight, so this is almost a biohack to get her into the position that we wanted to. Because with the slant board squat, what we’re really wanting to do is load the quads and load the quads maximally. So again, if she just stands flat, so stent, get off the slant board, she stands flat, she’s going to move and she’s going to be loading through and she’s moving forward now. So she’s loading her, lower back, her glutes, she steps onto the slant board. This in this position, she’s really just loading the quads and that’s what I want for the slant would squat. So you’re gonna use this to produce as much lactic acid in the quads as possible. So in doing this, we’re going to set it up at the bar bell. So you’re going to get your slant board.
If you don’t have a slant board and want to buy one, you can buy it out. We got ours from a Canadian company, I believe they’re a Canadian company. Fit. Have first we made. No, we have no ally. We’re not affiliated with ladies, but just where we get our samples from, there’s probably a bunch of other places where he get it from too. That’s where we got ours from. Fit of first. Um, likewise, you could probably use some plates and try and do it that way, or even an edge of a platform. So if you’ve got a platform at your gym, you could stand possibly on the platform and use that as the angle. So you’re going to position it as a high bar. So your hands are basically outside of shoulders, hands, always as close as you can possibly get them. Again, never, never, never, never use a pad on the bar is very, very important.
Never use a pad because it creates in proper position for the bar. It must be skin on Bar, not a pad, so that’s perfect there. Jay’s going to walk out, put her heels on to the slant board. Now with it, her knees are going to go forward. An ounce is where we want it to be, so it’s forward and out. This is loading just the quads and back up nice and tight tempo. Of this is very important, it’s going to be four, three, two, one and straight back up, and another important thing you want to look for on this is when she comes down, come down all the way and just hold position is there should be no daylight between her hamstrings and her carves, so hamstrings a completely covering her carbs in this position. She’s up nice and tall or erector spinae. The back is nice and contracted for head is forward stripe, backup jade, nice and fast. That’s perfect. So in this case, should do all her reps then racket. Go ahead and wrap it and that’s how you do a slant board barbell squat correctly.
